Frequently Asked Questions
How much will it cost to have tile installed?
The first step to start your project is to get an estimate. An estimate includes a site visit or home visit to measure the square footage of your project. Within 24 hours of the visit, you will receive an estimate and tile quantities required.
Where can I buy tile?
Tile can be purchased at a variety of local tile shops or ordered online. The amount of time shipping takes will determine when your project can begin. If you project needs to be done quickly, consider shops that have tile in stock.
When can you start?
Once an estimate has been done and approved by the homeowner, and the tile has arrived, work can begin.
Can you pick up my tile?
If your tile is ordered to a local shop, I will be able to accommodate tile pick up.
What size tile is best for a shower floor?
Small tile, such as penny rounds, make a great choice for shower floors because they provide more traction when wet. The standard for shower floor tile size is that it measures under 2" x 2".
What type of tile is best?
The type of tile that is recommended will depend on what it is being used for. While natural stone is beautiful, keep in mind, there will be more upkeep on your end to maintain the quality. Natural stone will be sealed at the time of installation and must be resealed again in the future. It is also sensitive to many common cleaning products.
Porcelain is the most durable tile and requires no upkeep.
How long will it take to complete my project?
Standard showers take about 7-10 working days depending on the type of tile, size of the tile, and the layout.
Do I need to be home while the project is being completed?
No, it is common for homeowners to be at work during the installation process. This allows the homeowner to avoid loud noises and dust that will be cleaned at the end of each workday.
